We've been self-hosted all along. Not that there was any other option in 2004. We started hosting on our own physical hardware in our facility, then moved to a virtual environment in a Rackspace datacenter. After that we moved back on premise on a virtual platform for a few years as a transitionary step, then migrated our virtual environment into Azure where we are today. It's been a journey!
Self-hosted organizations encounter unique circumstances that benefit from communication with our peer organizations. This is especially true when it comes to cyber security, and regulatory compliance.
