Any tips on how to identify contributions received via TNEW?

I have been using Analytics for this recently. I filter my contribution dash or widget by Created By and select TNEW.
Contributions made through orders (including those on TNEW) would inherit the channel value of the order. The Fund Activity Report has a Channel parameter, and it pulls through into Analytics for analysis. In the database you'll find it in T_CONTRIBUTION.channel. The values come from TR_SALES_CHANNEL.
Manually entered contributions, such as those that were made on TNEW to an On Account payment method, should be entered with a "web" or similar Channel value. The rest of this guidance would then apply.
The first and most important question is "How do you take contributions in TNEW?". There are two ways: direct to Fund or On Account. We do the latter, and then our Gift Processor transfers the money into a proper contribution later. I think we've always relied on the trail of transactions to identify contributions that had TNEW as an origin, and that's a bad decision, as it is extremely difficult to do so.
If you take contributions directly to a Fund, then it will be easier, as discussed above.
That's a great point Gawain. I'm going to amend my answer above to recommend that manually entered contributions use the same "Web" channel that TNEW uses on orders.
Yeah, I need to look into that.
On account I think. Unfortunately, I cannot confidently answer that most important question for several reasons:
a) We no longer take contributions via TNEW. We moved to another vendor in May 2019 and I didn't start this job until July 2019.
b) The previous DBA left this job in April 2019, and no one currently on the staff can tell me how it was set up back then.
I think I may have found what I need though, using the channel field. I have no idea why I couldn't get this right last week, but I was able to figure it out this morning.
Thanks everyone,
Ashley

UGH! *facepalm*
I was using media_type instead of channel last week!
That "13 rows" had me pulling my hair out!
