Hi all,
Have any of you researched or implemented a contactless way of accepting credit cards by phone, such as DTMF masking? The concept is to provide a way to accept credit cards via phone without staff ever hearing or handling the cardholder data. Here are two links that provide more details:

Thanks!

After just learning about Amazon Connect, I began doing a bit of research into their built-in DTMF functionality. We're researching Amazon Connect, which is a VERY competitively priced solution that leverages AWS Lambda for integration purposes, which is very enticing.
Thanks for the response Daniel, and for the question David.
We have done some research with PCIPal and have a member in the UK that wrote their own integration with it. I don't know yet when we would take on work to implement a solution like this, but I am very interested to follow this thread and see what others in the community think about this, and whats needed. I haven't looked into the Amazon Connect option, but that sounds interesting. I'll have a look at it.
Has anyone else implemented something like what David/Daniel are suggesting?
Thanks

I know nothing about this, but I have long wondered why stuff like this was not more common.
But I am also interested in seeing what is being done.
Hi Chris,
I'm glad to hear that some research has been done. My current take is that something like this is going to become essential for organizations that do orders via phone, particularly given our current dynamics. No one knows for sure, but I believe that even after all of us open up, many organizations will continue to have staff who work remotely.
Accepting phone payments where the patron speaks card data and a staff member inputs it, even if that is done on a secure payment terminal, is not ideal; the flaws are magnified in a work-at-home setting. I think it is important to shift to work towards contactless payment approaches via all channels.
We have a meeting with someone from PCIPal later this week and will probably talk to them about their options for other channels, like chat (i.e. similar to Pagato), as I think that would be useful too.
Thanks,
Hi Daniel - I'm very interested to hear more about what you discover in regards to Amazon Connect. We should connect (no pun intended) sometime soon!
Hi again,
I found out today that Windcave has a potential solution for this:

Has anyone explored or implemented this?
HI David, I dug up this older thread and was wondering what you learned. Thanks!
Hi Jaime - unfortunately, we ended up having to spend a lot of time on other priorities due to the pandemic and this was dropped. My current take is that the upcoming pay-by-link feature of Tessitura Merchant Services will help with this, although I'm guessing we'll still have to accept credit card payments by phone even with that feature. So it is likely something we'll revisit at some point.
