Tessitura-Related Positions and Organizational Structure

I'm very curious to know how other organizations are structured in terms of Tessitura-related roles especially at the management level. Is there one (or more?) person who has oversight and management of all things Tessitura? If so, what is their title and whom do they report to? Do you have a division/department separate from IT that is responsible for Tessitura/CRM? I'm particularly interested in hearing from small to mid-size organizations - staff of 30-50 and annual budget of $5-10mil. What about the job title for people who "do it all" at smaller organizations - oversight, database administration, application specialist, new feature implementation, integrations (email/web), data analysis and reporting, training, etc.)

Thanks!

  • Hi Odele!

We are a small-ish theatre (though we are the largest in our region). We have about 35 full time staff and an operating budget around $12 million.  Our basic IT is provided by our building facilitator (we used to be part of a consortium but left a few years ago so we could be masters of our own destiny), but my small team (myself and one direct report) manage all things Tessitura-related. My title is "Database and Systems Manager" and it encompasses pretty much everything you list above.  Additionally, I prepare our annual price matrix (and help to provide guidance regarding prices) and I manage our dynamic revenue and yield management strategy and implementation.  A jack of all trades, master of none for sure!

Organizationally, my team is part of the Audience Development team which includes our Marketing, Communications, and Audience Services/Box Office teams. I report to our VP of Audience Development (who reports to our Executive Director).

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out!
