Trying to get the scope of a potentially massive data hygiene project here at The Cleveland Orchestra. Is there a utility or protocol within tessitura currently that would allow me to upload some type of template with patron ID and update that patrons information automatically in one massive bulk upload. or is the only way this can be done is a patron by patron basis (i find that very hard to believe but anything is possible..). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Just so that I understand properly, you have what you expect to be better customer information from an outside source, and you want to bulk update all customer records with this new information?
What is the scope of the updated information? Address, Phone and Email? Or is it more?
That is correct! the only other pieces of information I can think of are things like if they're deceased, primary, secondary, alternate phone numbers, cell phone numbers, etc.
No not quite at least i hope not! Looking to update existing constituent records in bulk .

You could perhaps fool the NCOA utility to upload your data, but that would likely be more trouble than it's worth; plus you're already using the NCOA util for NCOA updates, right? ;-)

With SSMS and a little SQL code, anything is indeed possible. Nothing automated or built-in at this time, however. Sadly.
Yeah, I think you will need some kind of custom script. There is an Order Import Utility, but that (I think) will just create new customer accounts. You might then use a simpler script to automatically merge the accounts, but getting them to choose the right addresses and such without changing everyone's customer number might be tricky.
The NCOA update utility will only do addresses and phone numbers.
Are you a RAMP client? If so your task will be complicated by the fact that they don't give out permissions that allow for BCP uploads.
What is your plan for the currently existing information?
