Zebra TC20 install

Hello everyone,

Has anyone created a better install document for the Zebra TC20 scanners? The install documentation provided by Tessitura is NOT helpful and is WAY out of date.

  • Hi Christopher, Daniel and David!

We are looking to purchase new scanners here over the summer, and the TC20's have just popped up on my radar. Could anyone here speak to their experiences with this model so far?

Battery life, wifi connectivity, mobile scanning, staff adoption, etc.?

Daniel, I'm extremely inerested in your findings re: TC20 v.s. TC51.

Anything at all is helpful, and the Install documentation issues are noted!

    Thanks,

  • Hey Sydney,

We haven't started scanning yet as this is our last month on our legacy system. We are fully live on July 1 (and happen to have a show that day we have to scan. huzzah). As for the devices, they feel rather durable (although a little light). The straps for them are useless. I would highly recommend you budget for the triggers. The new triggers are not anything like the old Senseo triggers (seriously...when the TC20 is placed on the trigger, it looks like a Star Trek phaser). Setup took some time (approximately 3 weeks total...this of course with days where I couldn't focus on the install). The documentation for NSCAN is rather out of date and has not been updated in awhile. I'm happy to send you my NSCAN install document I made. It is entirely just to get NSCAN on the TC20's. If you are a RAMP organization, make sure you've read the help documentation and ensured they have everything setup for you on their end. I also highly recommend putting the Enterprise Home Screen on the devices. This allows you to lock down the device so only NSCAN is available to house staff. I'm happy to email that to you as well.

If you are going to TLCC, I'd be happy to meetup and chat through anything. By that point we will have had some scans in in two of our three theater spaces (one being 2000-ish seats) and I'll have some real word use experience for you as well. My email is ccuhel@thesmithcenter.com if you want to reach out for my document and that link for the Enterprise Home Screen.
