Hello,
I wanted to get an idea of what folks are using for volunteer management. Also is your system available through the web.
We currently track our volunteers through tesssitura using associations, and use attributes to indicate what areas they have been trained and are ready to work in. We also make use of a custom tab on the constituent record to track the activities they worked in. I was thinking of just extending this functionality to the web still using the tessitura functionality we have. This would give them access to a volunteer portal and allow them to manage their own schedules.
Any thoughts/suggestions greatly appreciated.
Jon
I agree. I suspect the Resource Scheduling tool may be a game changer.
BTW - Welcome to the Tessitura Community!

Hi Daniel,
Before you dig in to one of the homebrew Tessitura volunteer tracking systems you might want to investigate the Resource Scheduling tool that will appear in version 14, especially since it sounds like you have a functional system for the immediate future:

Nicole,
Our organization just signed on to Tessitura. We have a custom software system that handles our volunteers. I would be interested how other organizations have implemented Tessitura while manitaining a robust volunteer scheduling, managing and tracking system.

Which is not to say you shouldn't review the customizations and processes out there: there will likely still be tips and clues about managing things in Tessitura that will be helpful.
