Membership Recalc

We are seeing membership records with inconsistencies whereby a Merge or convert cust type puts the state of the data in a way that cannot be reported on with accuracy.  We would like to put in a job or infiltrate the Merge Process to resolve and basically recalculate all memberships to ensure the data is consistent with reporting needs.

I don't suppose anyone has advice or code as a jumping off point.

Many thanks

Doesn’t the “Membership Update Utility” in reports update this data?

    Hi John,

Yes I understand that the system does not touch the Recognition amount field after it initially populates it, for the reasons you state.  I am referring to the other 2 fields: Amount and AVC, which are not manually editable and are system driven.  I am looking for a way to nudge the system to recalc them in bulk, because there are circumstances where the system is failing to do if for us.

    cheers

    Dale

    Hi Julie,

I am also noticing issues whereby the membership Amount and AVC are not automatically recalculating when an adjustment is made (such as a refund of a contribution).  Although the Recalc button is there for an operator to force this, it seems there is no way to trigger a 'refresh' across the whole membership database to re-establish a logical equilibrium between the contributions and the membership values.

So I'd also be interested in hearing about any ways people may have overcome this.

    Thanks

    Dale
