Hello,
We are looking into using TRBO in the future and I want to try and check if we have the setup which would allow us to use it.
We currently use TNSPay software for processing customer present transactions which bypasses the Tessitura Payment Gateway Service entirely and is a separate button next to the payment type dropdown window in the payment screen. This de-scopes our PCI compliance exposure as we don't store cc details.
I wanted to know if any other users had tried TRBO and processing credit cards not using the PGS and, if so, how it worked. I've checked the documentation and I can't see any specific reference to this.
Thanks in advance,
Jamie
TRBO has two modes for processing credit card transactions.
The first is charging the card information through the PGS, passing the card information. The card data can be gathered with a mag swipe or keyed manually.
The other option uses an authorization outside of TRBO and the PGS. You enable this by selecting "External Authorization" in the TRBO setup for "card reader type". This option will not prompt for credit card details, but will ask for a reference and authorization number for each transaction, which must be keyed in. These values are then stored in the Tessitura database. The idea here is that you could use a Chip & Pin/PDQ device to charge the card, and still have the reference information in Tessitura to use for refunds, etc.

Hi Jamie,
We'll be starting to test TRBO in the next few weeks and are also looking to find a way to integrate the PDQ payments. I'll let you know what progress we make on this.
Thanks,
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
Great. Anything you could send over would be useful.
