Need guidance pulling New-to-File in Analytics

Hello all,

Struggling with how to pull new-to-file (first-time buyers) in Analytics. I've seen a couple other threads which touch on this topic, but no suggested solutions have seemed to work for me. I'm also still relatively new to how Analytics works with all the data, functions, calculations, etc.

What I'm working with is a season-at-a-glance type dashboard, filtering on current Tessitura Seasons, but little else (other 'Include All' filters are in place.) I'm just looking to add a widget to pull first time buyers, and nothing I've tried/found so far has done the trick.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hey Herb!

    The best solution I've seen for this is to identify them in a list and use that list to filter the widget, but I've also had some success on Performance level dashboards with using the "First Performance Name" data point to get a sense of how many people.

    I know this is 3 months late so may not be useful - but I use two "first-time buyer" widgets in my dashboards that I've patched together from various forums on this topic.

    One I use for my 'concert dashboard' so I can look in depth at each concert with fun graphs on the breakdown of ticket sales. For this widget I've used the First Performance Name as a category to create a little graph - annoyingly for this widget I have to set the filter to the concert on the dashboard AND go in and set the filter for the concert in the First Performance Name category within the widget.


    My other widget uses a formula which unfortunately I can't really explain, but it works great to give me the number of new ticket buyers to each concert, and the number of tickets they bought!

    You can download this dashboard which just contains these two widgets and then you can drag/drop them into your dashboard if they're useful :)
