This is a little baffling.
I've created a small dashboard for a registration (comp) event that we are running. I've got a lovely Scatter Map telling me where around the world people are booking from, and a widget that counts number of unique Constituent Id. But total ticket count is 0. I can use rows to show the price type and even the constituent Ids of all the people who have allegedly not bought a "ticket". bi.VT_ORDER_DETAIL has all of the sales and I have a seat map full of orders.
I can't figure why I might have a Ticket Count as 0?

Another thing that has tripped me up before is if you have a ticket layer type that isn’t ticket Analytics will say there are no tickets.
Was going to say the same thing! That tripped us up on our Comm Ed events when we got those into Analytics since we weren't using the standard Ticket Price Layer. We just added an all-zero Ticket Price Layer to each event and they started loading counts just fine.
Wow we're having this same problem and I didn't think of that! Did adding the zero Ticket Price Layer affect tickets that had already been sold? Or did you need to resell the tickets for those counts to show up?
Nope, just adding it to the event and letting Analytics load overnight solved it for us. We left existing orders and the original Price Layer that had prices set as is.
Thanks Madz. I was sure that was going to be it but Analytics Ind is ticked for all layer types in TR_PRICE_CATEGORY ... this is starting to be a steering wheel in my pants (it's driving me nuts)
Lucky I can count Order ID and that's enough in this case
For me, I had to include a layer with 'ticket price' description. See Andy's help from TASK:
"
Hi Nate,
Andy here with Tessitura Support. Thank you for your patience with this issue.
In looking at the performances in question, I see that they have no layer with the "Ticket Price" Price Category.
As noted in the following documentation on TR_PRICE_CATEGORY, "...Ticket Count and Seat count fields in Tessitura Analytics count only price layers in that category." If you want the count fields to populate, you'll need to add a layer with the "Ticket Price" price category to these performances (you can set the amounts to zero to avoid changing the price), and wait for a full load to complete.
Please let us know if this was helpful and/or if you have additional questions.
Thank you!
~Andy"
Does that help?
Thanks Nate!! I think that's it. The layer had it's own Registration category.
I've swapped it over and now it's a waiting game
