Favorite T-Stats Data

Hi all,

I am working on pitching the idea of T-Stats to our CEO (we are one of the 5% of the community not currently using it).  He wanted specific examples of what we can pull differently with T-Stats than we can with reporting.  I got a few examples that I could think of that we would use regularly, but I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing some of their favorite T-Stats discoveries or data results that have been eye-opening or even any that made your normal reporting tasks much easier?  Any unique ideas would be greatly appreciated!

  • Thank you Nicole!

Believe me..it makes me sad to not be using it either.  The examples you provided are very helpful.  I am pushing to get this accomplished.  This should help my cause.

    Thanks!

    Dan

  • Thank you, Leslie!

I explained how so many of the things T-Stats can help us with we might not even realize until the need arises.  It is also a big point to make that we will not need as many custom reports written for us.

    I appreciate your feedback!

    Dan

  • Thanks for your input, Amy!  This is all very helpful info.  :)

  • Kathleen,

Thank you for your input as well.  I think our CEO is a bit weary of the data to begin with so I think he may be concerned with how it is presented.  I think I have enough examples and ideas to prove my case.  :)

Your post makes me sad. I use T-Stats every single day and I have trained about a quarter of our full time staff to use it so they are using it all the time as well. It isn’t about finding one report in T-Stats that you like to use repeatedly it is about answering questions as they arise.

    Crossover reports

    Reporting on specific seats

    Attendance trends

    Zip Code Analysis

    Sales days prior to perf

    Financial capacities

    Num Perfs

Segmenting sales by MOS or Channel or Solicitor

    DOW analysis

    Zone analysis

I suggest looking in the Conference Materials Archive and looking at the T-Stats P2P presentations over the last several years and plucking anything you like from those.

If you need someone feisty to talk to him about it you can have him give me a call.

    Good luck!

    Nicole

  • T-Stats means Quick Stats for all those in the moment questions that Nicole so wonderfully notes below

There is no need to have a programmer write a report, staff can pull the data themselves.

  • T-Stats is a tremendous tool to have at your fingertips that is included
for free with your Tessitura license. I too, like Nicole said, use it
every day and cannot imagine doing my job without it.

    Year to year comparisons
    Sales days prior to performances
    Subscription sales trends
    Employee sales performance
    Seat sales analysis
    Price type comparison by season
    Zip code area sales
Having the ability to have a report in T-Stats and then also with the
click of a tab be able to look at that report in chart form is awesome
    too.
    The list is endless....

Try not to think of it as a replacement for Tessitura reports, it is a
massive addition to your Tessitura reports. It enhances your ability to
look at your data in different ways. There are so many options for
reporting in T-Stats. It takes working in the application to discover
what is going to work best for your organization. Everyone is different,
but you cannot go wrong with using T-Stats.

  • Like Nicole, Leslie and Amy, I am a HUGE fan of TStats, but I don’t use it much at my current org.  I am working with over 25 years’ worth of data that was always reported in a very specific way, and my execs are slightly wary because the numbers don’t always match perfectly when I re-run them on TStats.  I’ve explained the difference between transaction vs order date, and why the historical methods of reporting may not be the best (hence slightly different numbers when comparing TStats vs historical methods), but…  uphill battle.

Generally, though, I love TStats, and as long as you know what data you’re asking for and can articulate where it’s coming from, everything should be fine!

    Cheers,

    Kathleen
