I am looking for an alert that would pop-up if a constituent calls our Box Office. Would that be a reminder in the constituent's account?
Anyone that has had this situation?

I don't know about a pop-up but we flag user records with a Constituency that can easily be spotted in the header by Box Office staff. CSIs can also be customised to display an icon in the constituent header.
Jennifer,
We flag accounts for various reasons with research notes that then triggers an icon on the constituent header. This gives the box office a quick and visible indication that a patron is handicapped, needs extra room or larger seat, etc. It has been very successful so far and was very quick and easy to set up.

I went ahead and used both of these solutions.
Thank you!

How do you set this up?
Hi Loraine,
At ATTPAC, we have a heavily modified custom header for most user groups. It is possible to display an image (icon) in the header with the visibility of that image controlled by logic in the Infomaker report that acts as the header. This approach will require some work from someone with Infomaker and SQL knowledge.
However, beginning in V11 there is another option. (Caveat: we haven't implemented this but I've studied it at some length).
Flex headers allow users without extensive report writing or SQL knowledge to create custom headers. Flex headers are (ironically) not as flexible as infomaker headers, but they can be administered through system tables and make it easier to make changes. Setting up the elements in a custom header requires about the same amount of knowledge as adding custom list criteria or output set elements. you can learn more about flex headers at http://goo.gl/s6l94Z.
One way to set up the notifications mentioned in this thread is to create a specific research note type for the alert you want. A user would add a note of that type to the customer record and the header would be configured to display an icon or piece of text only when that note type exists.
The same type of logic could be used to display the notification based on an attribute, open CSI, or almost any other piece of information attached to the customer record.

Lorraine,
There are several steps involved and the majority of the process involves editing a stored procedure and InfoMaker file. I’m happy to document it and share my code if you have someone within your organization who has access to the backend of the database and InfoMaker.
