I have been reviewing the Server Preparation for v11 Upgrade document, which has been very helpful. The document refers to OS requirements for the application (gateway) server; however, it does not seem to mention OS requirements for other components, like the seat server, credit card server, etc.
Our current v10 environment uses Windows Server 2003. We are in the midst of a virtualization project and we will ultimately redeploy all Tessitura components on Windows Server 2008 R2 virtual servers. However, in order to migrate to v11 in a timely fashion, we may need to prioritize (i.e. if we can migrate some servers post-v11, that might be useful).
So, my question is this... Can some components, like the seat server and credit card server, remain on Windows Server 2003, or is Windows Server 2008 a minimum requirements for all Tessitura-related servers?
I appreciate your help!
Thanks,David
That’s great, thank you Ron!

David,
It is technically just the Application Server (the server that will run the new REST Services) that needs to be Windows 2008, mainly because we require IIS 7.x. Other servers are able to run either Windows 2003 or 2008 so long as they have the full version of .Net Framework 4.0 installed.
