Are there any plans to add social media log in functionality such as Facebook Connect?

  • Hi Gloria,

    Thanks for asking!

The ability to interact with outside social media is one of the many benefits of the new Tessitura services layer, that will allow a much easier extension of Tessitura to the outside world.  We have looked at use cases for Facebook Connect, Twitter and other popular options, and plan to spend some more time investigating how you might use the services layer to accomplish this sort of interoperability.

Since you asked, and for anyone else following this thread, what would be some real world scenarios for Facebook (or other social media) interoperability with Tessitura?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  • Aside from allowing the customer to login and purchase tickets, It would be great to add "Share" links on performances.

And in a far off perfect place, I'd love to figure out a way to allow people to unlock promo codes in exchange for their participation in a social media marketing effort.  For instance, if you got 10 Facebook friends to buy tickets, you would receive a free parking pass or a ticket discount.

Another route would be to make special offers to everyone who is a fan of your organization's Facebook account.  I know you could do that now with a promo code, but it would be much smoother (and better controlled) if Facebook Connect was the login mechanism.

Something that is creeping in slowly to Facebook is ticketing. That would be a great thing to add to Tessitura. There are several organizations that are selling tickets directly through Facebook now.
