If the patron doesn’t have an active membership already, change the initiation date on the pending membership, if you can, to “before now” (following the standard rules of the membership organization as to whether that’s the beginning of the month, end of the month, a specific date, etc.). Don’t forget to adjust the expiration date at the same time.
