change from pending

on Membership renewals...I have found my members current Status shows "pending" not sure how to change it to "active"

suggestions?

    If the patron doesn’t have an active membership already, change the initiation date on the pending membership, if you can, to “before now” (following the standard rules of the membership organization as to whether that’s the beginning of the month, end of the month, a specific date, etc.). Don’t forget to adjust the expiration date at the same time.

    Also make sure you are running the Membership Update Utility regularly. This utility moves memberships from "active" to "inactive" status, and then moves any "pendings" to "active."

    Hi Curtis,

    That really depends on how your memberships are set up. The date range they are referring to is which expiration date ranges you want to have the report examine. But you'll want to do some testing on this to make sure you understand what it's going to do before you put it in your live system. I can tell you that we run this utility every night, because we have rolling memberships, so we have memberships that need to have their status changed every day. Some people have all their memberships ending on the same day, or only at the end of the month, so then they might run it less often.
