Thanks for the feedback, Gaynor (and Heather and Patrick).
We’ve used Tessitura for our press contacts since going live for the 07-08 season. I asked our Assistant Director of PR to sum up why it works for us and she said:
In addition to having press ticketing noted on a constituent record related to how our PR folks are tracking their other info, I also appreciate that I can keep record of people who are now “inactive” b/c they’re out of a job or retired, without losing their info. We use attributes to help categorize which people we want to send which releases to, etc.
Hope that’s useful feedback,
Jamie

Hi
This sounds a really interesting idea. We don't currently store our media contacts in Tessitura but we have been considering this recently and it would enable us to send press releases via WordFly. Are there any pros and cons to using Tessitura as a media contact database over other media-specific databases that people have found?
Thanks very much

Good afternoon –
Our in-house publicity team is testing out a new communication strategy for press that will involve using WordFly. During our first training session, they posed the question of also using the software to do the actual press releases and alerts, as the HTML format allows for inclusion of show artwork within the release without additional attachments.
We’re developing a pros and cons list now but are wondering—is anyone else out there using an email software program (WordFly/TMS or anything) to send out press releases? If so, would you mind answering a few questions for my colleague about how it’s working for you?
Sincerely,
