QR Codes

Hello Everyone,

I hope this finds you all enjoying your summer and I hope to see many of you at conference.

I was discussing QR codes with my roommate last night as he works for a PR/Advertising company and I got to thinking about the possibility of adding QR codes to ticket templates so that we have a QR code on any printed ticket that goes out the door.

I am wondering if any of you have tossed around this idea and concurrently, am wondering if the BOCA printers have the print capabilities of handling QR codes that would be readable by a smartphone.

Sorry if you get two of these but I thought I'd also post this in the Marketing Forum as well. Any, thoughts, ideas or just a big discussion about this new and innovative marketing tool would be awesome.

Best,

  • Hi there. We have experimented with putting QR Codes here and there. Mostly on posters, window wraps and print ads but not tickets. We just send them to our website. I'm interested in what landing page you were thinking of sending them to. Every QR Code I have scanned on other people's materials just sent me to a web page that didn't really interest me or tell me much more than the ad itself. Although I did see a really good one from a show in NY that sent you to a funny video. I have yet to find a real use for them or wide adoption of them. I am the only person I know with a reader on my phone.
