How are you using QR Codes?

There was a great question yesterday during the Trends in Digital Media webinar about QR codes. Would you share with us how you are using or planning to use QR Codes in your organization?

What is a QR code, you ask?  Here is a brief description for you.

  • We didn’t wait for site optimization, but we did have a custom landing page that was a bit more mobile-friendly.

We'd love to use QR codes - but thought we had to wait until our website was optimized for browsing via multiple mobile devices.

For those of you now including QR codes in your posters and print materials - and driving folks to your website from the codes - is your site already optimized for mobile browsing? Did you consider this before starting to use QR codes? [Maybe we shouldn't be worried about it?]

We are including QR codes in our print ads that take you to the info page for that performance where you can read program notes and buy tickets.

We also changed out some of our ad posters on main street to simply be a giant QR code.  That is the whole ad, a three foot square QR code.  Scanning this ad will take you to a special offer page that we change out weekly.

Participation is slow, but this is new and people are still learning what the QR codes are and how to use them.  We are willing to give them time to catch on.
