Hiya
As it stands, if we want to send out a mailing with a ticketing offer, e.g. Half price tickets our Box Office will facilitate the offer using an outside source code to enable it to be available online and at the Box Office. When a customer then books (over the phone) the B/O Agent will select the outside source code relating to the offer. Due to this, we are unable to analyse the return rate for our promoted mailing as the Agents aren't able to select the inside source.
Does anyone know a different way of setting up and facilitating offers as our Box Office are a bit stumped as to how we work around it, and as a Marketing Team we don't want our promoted mailings/emails to be pointless!
Thanks :-)
Dawn,
We ran in to this issue, as well, where the box office was setting up the offer using an outside source (so they could get it built and tested in a timely manner), and the person in charge of sending the email/mailing was creating a duplicate inhouse source when the email went out. In our case, the box office had the ability to choose the inside source if they saw it in someone’s account (not sure why your guys aren’t able to – inactive source? Could be lots of things), but just as often they’d just memorize the outside source # and use that one in all cases.
The workaround reporting-wise would be to run a list of everyone who received the offer and who has the outside source code in their account. You can then use that list in a couple of different reports (the Revenue by Source and Appeal, for one) that will show you how many tickets you actually sold to those folks.
Although this is an OK workaround, we realized at the end of last season that we were creating way too many duplicate sources, which caused even more confusion among the box office staff, and actually came up with a better way of creating source codes for offers so that we don’t have that duplication. If you want more specifics on what we decided to do, I’d be happy to chat offline.
