Hello! I'm sure this is an easy answer, but I don't know what I'm missing... We're still new to Tessitura so bear with me! :) TL/DR; Why are my counts for a list lower in List Manager than in Extraction Manager?
I'm working on an extraction for a targeted email. I'm targeting people who attended XYZ shows, suppressing current buyers, and limiting this to people with a "Yes" email contact permission.
To do this, I created the target list in List Manager so that I could easily choose multiple past performances. But then I moved over to Extraction Manager to make it easier with the contact permissions - instead of manually doing this in Excel, which I have been until now.
Where I'm confused is with the counts. The List Manager list is about 2,500 names. In Extraction Manager, that segment is about 4,700 names. My only criteria is that someone is "IN" that list. I get the same for "HAS." So who are these extra people, and why are they being added? I'm suppressing duplicates so that's not it.Thank you :)
Hi Jean!
I'm betting that you have the one with lower counts marked to convert the individual to a hh if one exists, but you haven't made the same selection with the one with higher counts.
This is what it looks like in a segment of an extraction:
VS what it looks like in list manager:
Also, to be clear, are you using the actual list manager list as a segment in the extraction, or are you replicating the criteria in an extraction segment? Does that question make sense?
Thanks! It's a good thought, and I too thought the individual/HH thing may be the issue, but both have the "leave individual constituents" selection.
Hi, Jean-
Is your extraction manager set to suppress inactive records?
Rachel
Yes, that question makes total sense. I am using the list manager list as a segment. The reason for this is I'm choosing about 10 different past production seasons, and it was cumbersome to build as a segment in Extraction Manager because of the drop-down clunkiness there. But, because I am using the list manager list as a segment, I'm really puzzled by why the counts wouldn't be the same.
Hi! Yes it is. It's suppressing Inactive Records, Current Buyers and is set to only include Yes permissions. So if anything, I would think the number would be *lower* than the list manager list. Here's what it looks like, if this is legible:
And here's the criteria, which shows the selected list and the count of 2,522:
Have you tried unchecking the search household checkbox in this segment?
Can we see your list manager criteria? Are you getting the 2500 count after filtering in output set by chance?
Yes - and thank you so much for the help!! I did just try your suggestion above to uncheck the household, and that didn't change it.I checked the Output, but the only filter there is for Contact Permission = Email, which is part of the Extraction count as well so in theory shouldn't change anything. That said, I did change the output sets a few times just in case. Here is the criteria:
I'm always happy to help. I'm a bit stumped here though. It might be worth putting in a support ticket for this one. Sorry I couldn't be more help! Please keep us posted on what it actually was once you figure it out.
