Abandoned cart triggered emails - who's doing it, is it worth doing?

Hi everyone,

Here in the Perth Tessitura Consoritum we're talking about the ability to do triggered emails for abandoned carts. I know it was quite a hot topic a few years ago but I haven't really heard much about it for a while.

Who of you are using abandoned cart triggered emails, and how successful is it for you? It seems there's a bit of work involved to get the triggered emails set up, so is it worth us exploring this further based on your experience?

Thanks in advance

Nancy

  • Hi, Nancy -

We  transitioned our abandon page / cart strategy to Salesforce a year ago. In the last year, those emails averaged a 54% open rate and an 11% click through rate. (For context, Nordstrom has said that their abandon cart emails are opened at a rate of 38% on average.)  Those engagement numbers definitely translate into sales, and the revenue is not insignificant.

Please give me a shout directly if you have any questions.
