Reports from tickets not purchased in Tess?

Hi, I was curious with how other organizations that had converted their ticketing history from a previous database into Tessitura dealt with creating reports from the historical data.  Since the transactions weren't done in Tessitura, were custom reports created, or were there other ways of going about getting data?

  • Pre-Tessitura ticketing history lives in the localized ticket history table, and would need custom reporting to pull information out. Since the format and contents of the ticket history table can be customized, you can include additional information you need for reporting. (Assuming you can pull it from your previous ticketing system.)

  • Hi Gabriel,

We went live in 2005 but still have historic data which didn't originate in Tessitura, as well as regularly importing touring data which is visible in Ticket History but is not included in most of the Tessitura reports.

If I need to report on the historic or imported data, I tend to use Output Set Builder and pivot tables for analysis of price types, total tickets etc.

  • We haven't done it yet but in the near future we plan to launch SSRS using a data warehouse model.  In it we hope to store nightly copies of the Tessitura and Artifax data along with some ticketing data from our previous system.  The idea is that reports can then be written to access all the data together.
