Has anyone moved over to WordFly since the Mail2 "upgrade"? We are still experiencing problems with Mail2 and I'm interested in speaking with someone who has changed platforms. Thanks!
This answer perhaps sidesteps your primary question a bit, but I will say that I regularly run into discrepancies in unsubscribe permissions and such because WordFly's data sync declares success after it finds the first instance of an email address. With households and duplicate accounts using the same contact info, this ends up being a bit incomplete. We have a small list and the vast majority of our patrons are individuals only, so this is a small frustration (1-3 per campaign perhaps?) but might be more of a concern for larger organizations. I believe it's mostly a case of v12 enhancing options without a full catch up by the external program. I would not consider this a deal breaker by any means, but it is something to be manually managed. FYI - I know there has been some serious work on the MailChimp integration angle, in a way meant to be beneficial to all Tess orgs, and am looking forward to hearing the details of it at the conference. I'm interested to know this as well. Hi everyone,
Regarding Howard's example, even if person@email.com lives on multiple accounts and the unsubscribe is only registered on one of those accounts, you still won't be able to send to the other accounts which have that email because Wordfly will block it.
"If this subscriber's address is included in future list imports, WordFly will see the address and register that there is an opt-out on their account. The address will not be imported and will be flagged as an import issue."
Where that becomes a bit annoying if you don't have a procedure to unsubscribe all accounts with that address, is that the next time you pull an email list/extraction, the other accounts that have person@email.com will get in the list in Tessitura, so they'll get the a promotion on their account, BUT when you try to import that list into Wordfly, the address won't be imported as per the above. So it can look a bit confusing on constituent records. At least, I'm pretty sure that's the case... even though the import file would have a different Constit ID to the one that had the bounce, i'm pretty sure email addy is the unique identifier in Wordfly.
Happy to answer anyone's questions about Wordfly, just sing out. Otherwise, their support site support.wordfly.com has lots of info.
Cheers,
Meg
