We use chip and pin devices at front of house, however some cards do not have a chip. Is there a way to do a customer present keyed transaction using a chip and pin terminal? Is anyone else doing this? Our chip and pin terminals do not have a receipt printer so we cannot use this to obtain a signature prior to authorization... can this be done through Tessitura?

Our recipes have quite a bit of space on so we just get customers to sign there, not the most elegant solution but it works.

Thanks for your reply. Do you include a line or space for signatures on all chip & pin receipts? I couldn't see that there's an option to switch based on whether the pin has been entered or the card swiped as it's still through the same payment method?

The chip and pin devices will ask you to swipe the card if it doesn’t have a chip, although you will have to insert it first. We have Tessitura set to print two receipts and get the customer to sign one of them.
