Possible to Automate Batch Closing/Posting?

Hello,

Has anyone automated the batch closing and posting procedures? If the end of the month falls on a w/e when staff is not here, finance has to wait a day or two before closing the month. If we could automate, it would solve that issue as well as improve workflow on a day to day basis.

Thanks, Michael

The Network strongly discourages automating the batch closing and posting processes.  Error checking code is built into the client to ensure the integrity of data in a batch before it is closed and again when the batch is posted that if skipped could cause problems with the transactions in a batch.  Additionally, with controlled batches, credit cards are released for settlement when a controlled batch is closed and if automation results in these charges failing to be released, it could result in major financial implications.  Support has worked through numerous problems resulting from the automation of batch closing and posting that have been difficult to troubleshoot and resolve.  As such, although we understand the reasons why there is a desire to automate these processes, our position is that closing and posting of batches should only be done via Batch Administrator in the client.
