TNEW and education

We are implementing TNEW and I am looking for some TNEW sites that do class registration on line (into Tessitura). I would like to see how different organizations are using TNEW for this. I love to learn from others. If your organization does this, please let me know!

Thanks

We do this at Jazz at Lincoln Center.  We have classes for both adults and children.  This is the first year that JALC has been on Tessitura and TNew.  We set the classes up as packages and sell them as aux pkg through TNew.

  • We have sold camps online and are about to start doing Focused Field Trip orientations for the Teachers before the field trip date.   I am in the process of trying to make the Teachers have a mandatory field to enter the school name when they register for the "performance"  that will create a CSI.   Once I get that working I will implement this for Camps as well so we get the child's name and not just the parents name from the order.

  • We've sold camps through our TNEW site two season in a row now. In our second season (just went live last week) we've added the ability to select a child that has registered previously. In Tessitura we create accounts for the children and affiliate them to a household then add the child account to the special request for the specific line item. If a new child is registered we add them to an existing household or convert the currently logged in account to a household then add the new child account.

Here's the link (starts off on the content side of our Web site) if you want to check it out:

    http://arenastage.org/education/camp-arena-stage/

We use auxiliary data fields to collect child information, and there's a customizable stored procedure that we use to remit the data to Tessitura as well as handle all of the household/account stuff. (The other option for remitting data from aux data fields is having the info go to a CSI for further in-house processing.)

  • Hi Lou,

My organisation doesn't have any eduction programs but I did attend a TNEW session at TLCC2012 where La Jolla Playhouse presented on handling classes and merchandise which you might want to check out: http://www.lajollaplayhouse.org/education-and-outreach/programs-for-youth/ypw

    Cheers,

    Kevin

  • Thanks for your reply. Please let me know how your mandatory field works out. That would be useful.

  • Thanks Brian. I walked through the process on your site. I might contact you later (if that is OK) to ask a couple of questions.
