Switching on account money to a different CID

Every once in a while I have issues with members forgetting their online login information and end up creating a duplicate CID and donating money through it. This puts their donation on account on the dupicate CID and not the one with their previous giving history. Is there a way to move on account money between CIDs?

  • We have not found a way to do this.

    1. If both records are “Individual” records for the exact same person, then we merge the records and apply the contribution.
    2. OR – we apply the contribution as normal on the new CID and then merge after.
    3. If one record is a HH and the new one is an Individual, then we affiliate the Individual with the HH and “move transactions to HH”.
    4. A few more steps are involved and should be sequenced, if
      1. the records are 2 different individuals within the same HH
      2. the contribution is a payment on a pledge
      3. if the HH already has the same individual affiliated

Feel free to give me a call if you need to discuss further. J
