I've put together an appeal for our board. The trouble is, when board members "get" a contribution--that is, a friend or associate gives the contribution at the behest of the board member--that donor is not going to be in the list that the appeal was based on. So the appeal doesn't show up as a source when you enter the contribution, and it makes the reporting a lot more difficult.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks!

Can’t the board member be the solicitor of the gift ? You can have source code for the ad hoc gifts not in the source code with a list for same appeal
