Hello Fundraisers! Is anyone using Donate2 who might be able to chat with us specifically about tracking source codes for one-time giving vs recurring giving? We're just about to launch and are hoping to be able to separate out these 2 types of donations via distinct source codes. Or, if there are other best practices, we'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance for any good ideas out there!
Hi Sue, if you have an idea of your needs and are unsure how to accomplish them in D2, I highly recommend working with their staff. They are generous with their time to help you find the solution you need.
Megan
Thank you!
Agreed! I have nothing but good things to say about when I worked with them on another project.
The D2 team is great. Like others have said.
One thing that is possible is overriding the source code with a url parameter. While each D2 form can have a default source code associated with it, you can also override a source code with a source URL parameter.
In your situation, our Development team would probably create separate forms with separate source codes, where the intent of the form is meant for recurring or one-time.
I concur D2 support is swell. We have an annual form (with one source), a monthly form (with another source), conjoined by a Launch form where prospect picks annual or monthly (recurring). Works as expected whether URL override (source - eblast, e.g.) or form source UNTIL, someone clicks the in-form "back" button to go back to the launch form then continue to the other form, in which case the form's source wins over the override. To me, that's a stretch case, but even so, D2 team said they'd try to fix that for us.
