Plans & Steps for Leadership Cultivation

Hello,

At conference this year, I was part of a group discussion where several people mentioned their organizations use Plans & Steps to track leadership (board/advisory) cultivation. We are interested in exploring this. I would love to talk with anyone who implements plans for board/advisory leadership and discuss setup, use and examples.

Thank you,

  • We use plans to track board nominees! I've created a dummy campaign called "Board Nomination" that I use to track it. The statuses are mostly similar to those we use for cultivating donors (Research, Cultivate, Ask, etc.) except instead of Gift Received or Gift Declined we have Accepted and Declined. All current board members have plans in the Accepted status and I use that to track steps like sending orientation packets to new members, as well as sending annual philanthropic planning documents to help them plan out their giving to us each FY. Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help!
