Hello,
At conference this year, I was part of a group discussion where several people mentioned their organizations use Plans & Steps to track leadership (board/advisory) cultivation. We are interested in exploring this. I would love to talk with anyone who implements plans for board/advisory leadership and discuss setup, use and examples.
Thank you,
Beth PantzerBravo! Vail
Hi Beth. I do know of plan usage examples from the documentation library but we are just getting started ourselves. So, following this topic!
Tessitura v15 Help System - Plan Usage Examples (tessituranetwork.com)

We use plans to track board nominees! I've created a dummy campaign called "Board Nomination" that I use to track it. The statuses are mostly similar to those we use for cultivating donors (Research, Cultivate, Ask, etc.) except instead of Gift Received or Gift Declined we have Accepted and Declined. All current board members have plans in the Accepted status and I use that to track steps like sending orientation packets to new members, as well as sending annual philanthropic planning documents to help them plan out their giving to us each FY. Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help!
Thank you Colleen! Appreciate the information.
Thanks JM
Btw, are there automations through Plans? I thought they were more for step-tracking and reminders. Plans can't contact constituents for you, can they?...
Hey JM, they can't contact for you, but you can mass add contact steps to a plan and could use that to set up a list for a triggered eblast.
Just seeing this, Colleen. I don't think this is v15 documentation, but do correct me if I'm wrong. How do you go about making a plan-template that adds the same steps to all plans of a certain type/category?
