Tax Information Letters

I am looking to get some information on how tax information letters are pulled from Tessitura?  Does anyone have documentation that they can share?  Thank you.

  • Qaya,

Like Heath said, there is the Cumulative Giving Summary, but it isn't itemized. At SLSO, we do itemized cumulative giving summaries. We currently have two custom letters: one for calendar year giving of 1,500 and up, and another for 1,499 and below.

The script and letter template for the 1,499 and below were written by my predecessor. I think that was the only letter we had until last year. I guess my coworkers wanted a more personalized letter for the 1,500 and up group. So last year I took the script from this report shared by the Tulsa Arts Management Consortium (link) and modified it for our purposed. My coworkers wrote a letter in Word and (this year) I exported the data for them to do a mail merge (their choice, not mine). However, next year I think I am going to take their letter template and prepare a Visual Studio template, because that mail merge was a headache for them this year.
