Tax receipting donate for resale

Hello,

We currently process ticket donations by placing the money on account for Development to process and tax receipt. We are wondering how organizations generate an acknowledgement and tax receipt no when using the donate for resale functionality from the ticket order screen?

Thank you,
Lou Ann

  • This might provide a bit more information about the Tax Receipts Counters.

It shows up in the output of the Print Acknowledgment receipt letter data.

Lou Ann, I am not familiar with a "tax receipt number." Could you elaborate?

We use a pre-form letter and merge all of the ticket donation/return details in it.

I do have a follow-up question: How are organizations accounting for the dates? What I mean is, someone can buy a sub or single ticket FAR IN ADVANCE (say spring 2017), and then return the ticket for a performance in Fall 2017, which is still within our season, but now in a different tax year. I hope this question makes sense to someone. :-)

    Thanks,
