Start and By dates in Solicitations

Hi

How are you using the Start and By dates in solicitation records? Currently, we are setting those to coincide with the start and end dates of the campaign for which the solicitation was created. Is anyone using them differently? Maybe to prioritize the order of solicitations or to track how long certain solicitations are taking?

We are still on v11 but I would also love to hear if anyone changed the way they are using these dates when they migrated to v12.

Thanks!

  • I’m not in the loop on that this year, but when I was, we programmatically set “start” to start of campaign “by”  to 90 days before next/most recent renew date for renewals and lapsed, end of campaign out of the gate for acquisitions.  All subject to moving around at the fundraiser’s discretion for something along the lines of mediating the flow in the pipeline.
