Wondering about best practices from other organizations who record all gifts to the acct from which the check is written (and soft credit to directing individual).
When recording a gift from a donor advised fund, do you soft credit to the Foundation the Fund is at in addition to the Individual directing the gift?
Thanks for your thoughts,

Keri, we give legal credit to the donor advised fund and soft credit to the donor. We do not give any kind of credit to the Foundation (Fidelity, Schwab, T. Rowe Price, etc.).

Joanne,
Thanks for your response! That makes sense. We currently designate which donors give via two specific community foundations which is maybe why we are soft crediting them. Maybe it's time to question why we do that... :).

Also, do you have a specific Constituent Type for DAF's?
