Pop Up Skill Builder: Event Cancellation Utility

With the Event Cancellation Utility, you can apply funds from returned tickets to a gift certificate, toward a contribution, to an on account payment method; or process a credit card refund. We'll walk through using this new utility, from building a list based on cancellation request Customer Service Issues (CSIs) to sending out receipts after you run the utility.

We’ve launched a new Learning program – Pop Up Skill Builders! These more casual how-to sessions will be held twice a week, and they focus on building skills of immediate importance to you, our Members.

If you are available at 6pm US Eastern on Tuesday, 14 April (8am on Wednesday in Sydney), please join us for this Event Cancellation Utility walk-through by registering here.

Can’t join us then? Register anyway to receive the recording link via email as soon as it is published.

If you have ideas for Pop Up Skill Builders, please email Learning@tessituranetwork.com

We’ll post new topics weekly.

  • I have no idea if this is possible, but could the Event Cancellation Utility be iterated-upon to return entire packages? We have a full summer season that's been canceled and in documenting how using the utility can help them not have to touch every order, I've found some real bummers regarding packages. I did not vet it for CC's b/c these orders would nearly all be outside the 45 day window.

    1. When refunding to a Gift Certificate, the utility will create as many gift certificates as performances are in the package, so then they would either need to be manually combined or, as I'll be advising, if someone selects gift certificate, just do it manually, which means they will first need to manually mark the order as printed.

    2. If opting for Contribution, a number of smaller donations are going to be created, rather than one.

    3. If you opt to close the CSI, it will be marked as closed the first time the utility is run, but there many still be a number of performances in the package that are not yet dealt with.

In a perfect scenario, if we could run it by the package (even just fixed packages) on a list and have it close 1 CSI per package, create 1 gift certificate and/or 1 donation, that would be super helpful. Figured it never hurts to ask.
