Is anyone creating specific on account payment methods to track the money put on account as a result of COVID-19 cancellations? Are you specifying a time limit for patrons to redeem the value of this on account money?
Hi Kelly - yes we created a specific on account payment method, but merely for tracking purposes. We are not specifying any limits on its use.
We created a few special On Accounts and have given until end of the next season for one, end of this season for another.
Hi friends! I just wanted to float the idea that Gift Certificates could also be an option here. There is a standard utility to expire them (Gift Certificate Expiration Utility), and they can be used on TNEW and custom websites by the customer without the need to call in. (They are not restricted in how they are spent, such as if you only allow customers to spend the money for certain productions, so that is typically a reason to stick with On Account money.)

Hi Kelly, we have created a special Cont on account for patrons donating back their tickets and a special Tkt on account for people who want a credit for a future show. We don't yet have a time limit on when folks can use their credit, I think we are trying to get caught up and then we will talk about that then. I think we will push for folks to use it in this fiscal year which ends in September, but we don't know yet.
