Timed Entry and Advance Reservations

Hello Everyone. I posted this quick survey out there on a different forum, however, leadership is looking to hear feedback from our local organization as well. I was hoping you all had a few minutes to answer the questions below.   A reply here or email me at michelle.clabaugh@state.mn.us would be great. If you don't mind taking a few minutes, your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to the next TCTUG.

  1. Do you currently use timed entry and/or advance reservations?

  1. Do you plan to continue timed entry and/or advance reservations when COVID capacity restrictions expire? If so, are you also fully restoring your onsite ticketing box office for walk ups?

  1. What advantages to timed entry and/or advance reservations were most important as to why you are retaining this option?

  1. Do you plan to incentivize advance reservations to steer visitor to planning ahead or do you feel that is now a expectation to your visitors and expiring restrictions will not change that?

  1. Do you use mobile ticketing? Can your visitors self-scan for entry?

  • Hi Michelle!  Thanks for the questions.  At the Minnesota Orchestra, we are currently not using timed entry, we did for a while when we first returned to events after the pandemic started, but haven't used it since last summer.  Most of our sales are advance reservations and we've started offering walkup sales at the box office for events provided the guest(s) can meet the vaccination/testing requirement for entry to the building and they give us contact information for tracing.  We encourage mobile ticketing; it is our default delivery option.  We do have mail and will call options available now for guests to choose if they would rather have a physical ticket.  We also have self-scan stations on every floor; the usage is fairly low for us but it is nice to provide guests with a choice. Good luck with your survey!
