Hello Everyone. I posted this quick survey out there on a different forum, however, leadership is looking to hear feedback from our local organization as well. I was hoping you all had a few minutes to answer the questions below. A reply here or email me at michelle.clabaugh@state.mn.us would be great. If you don't mind taking a few minutes, your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to the next TCTUG.
Hi Michelle! Thanks for the questions. At the Minnesota Orchestra, we are currently not using timed entry, we did for a while when we first returned to events after the pandemic started, but haven't used it since last summer. Most of our sales are advance reservations and we've started offering walkup sales at the box office for events provided the guest(s) can meet the vaccination/testing requirement for entry to the building and they give us contact information for tracing. We encourage mobile ticketing; it is our default delivery option. We do have mail and will call options available now for guests to choose if they would rather have a physical ticket. We also have self-scan stations on every floor; the usage is fairly low for us but it is nice to provide guests with a choice. Good luck with your survey!
Hi Michelle,
Here is what we are thinking at the Walker!
1. Yes we do use timed entry and advanced reservations for gallery admission. We do also have walkup tickets available.
2. We will definitely continue with advanced reservations. TBD if we will continue with timed entry. We have kept our box office open throughout Covid.
3. We will continue with advanced reservations both because visitors like having that option, and because we get so much more contact information with that method! We don't currently require setting up a constituent record for walkups. We did earlier in the pandemic, but it is hard to get accurate contact info with masks/plexi at the desk. As for timed entry, the main disadvantage is that we deal with a constant stream of emails/phone calls from visitors who want to change their entry time. So that is why we would consider still offering advanced entry without timeslots post restrictions.
4. I don't think we would need to incentivize advanced reservations, but we might consider it if they went down drastically post Covid.
5. We use PAH tickets but don't do self scan entry. PAH tickets are scanned by box office associates to enter the museum.
Thanks!
