Hi all.
This is a follow-up from TLCC.
We had heard in different sessions, including the Leadership session, where quality of life improvements for general admission is currently being worked into the road map. Also there was information about an overhaul in two years. I think it would be helpful to have the Tessitura team that is responsible for this to give a more detailed update during our next meeting.
IMHO, this group should provide input on what we need to help our organizations. Can someone please speak to that too? Is this happening? Do we have access to submit ideas specific to this topic that not in the generic ideas area on the website?
Thank you community group and community leaders!
Trini
Hey Trini, we're going to see if we can get someone from the Tessitura Innovation team to join us at a meeting in October (TBD). We can get some insights from them and give them some feedback as well. Once we can nail down a date, we'll post it to the group.
Mark DuBose Thank you Mark! I think it would be extremely valuable to our group! (Nice meeting you at TLCC!)
Hi Trini,
I can add some context to the “overhaul in two years” part of your comment. In the past, Tessitura has talked about re-engineering our general admissions functionality so that it does not use seats on the backend. The scope of this change is significant and impacts almost all of Tessitura’s functionality. We generally only undertake one large scope change at a time, and our current focus is migrating the Tessitura application to the updated web interface. We expect the migration to continue through 2023. Therefore, we estimate the soonest we would re-engineer our general admissions functionality to remove seats on the backend would be in 2024.
In the interim, we have other features in-progress and in planning, which will benefit museums and attractions—and we look forward to sharing examples of those features with you at tomorrow’s meeting.
Thank you very much John! I wish I could've attended the meeting, but I'm happy I was able to watch the recording today. Great info from you and Alex and this will help me have more informed discussions with my team. I appreciate you and the Tessitura team for all of your efforts to make Tessitura better for our MZA sector.
Hi John, thanks for spending time with us and answering our questions! I am looking forward to the interface changes which are coming down the pike.
I am looking for a little clarification on the timeline for removing seats. If the migration were not delayed, would your team be starting work on this change in 2024, or would it be released/usable for us in 2024?Given the scope of the work required, I am concerned this might spend a long time in development, with the end-product not available until 2025 or 2026.I realize it is hard to give a specific timeline with this type of overhaul, but any clarity would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Katy, As you said, it's too far in the future to say with certainty. We’ve been taking feedback and considering options for a while now, so when we’re ready to begin, we’ll have a great plan and be able to work expediently. With the release of version 16, we’re developing features in smaller chunks and releasing more iteratively, so you shouldn’t need to wait until ’25 to see progress.
Thanks!
