Hi all!
My name is Jen, and I am with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. When our Museum was built, a "theatre" space was constructed, but never finished.
We are looking at finally getting the space up and running, and I had some questions and was hoping to connect with anyone with something similar.
The vision of the space is this:
It will be a mixed use space. Will have the capacity as a seated theatre with seats that retract to have an open space that could accommodate round tables, or just a GA space. Will have permanent AV/sound/audio capable for small theatrical performances, musical acts, meeting space, educational classes, live stream broadcasting, film festivals etc.
We are in the early planning of this, and am looking at how it works for you from an operational standpoint.
Thanks
Jen
I came from a Science Museum and I operated the 3D theater space. It didn't have a stage or "open floor space", but we did use it for a LOT of uses besides films. Not sure if this helps, but if you are in need of actual installation or build-out, I would recommend this Giant Screen film company that is very familiar with the non-profit, cultural space: https://gsfilms.com/
(and if you wanted a contact name, I would be happy to provide one).
Also, this institution is not a Tessitura user, but they have a space that I have always been intrigued by...it is very flexible: https://www.discoverycube.org/ (google the building to see interior shots of the flex-space -https://www.ocregister.com/2015/04/10/discovery-cube-in-santa-ana-opens-new-500-seat-julianne-argyros-showcase-theater-and-exhibition-hall/ )
That's a great space Mark Boyer
