Timed Entry Facility Share

Hello MZATUG Fam,

In anticipation of re-opening with limited capacity, I'm building some timed entry facilities. I've build them a few different ways in the past but I'd love to see more examples. Currently debating a time slot per screen vs one screen and using text/blackouts on the map.

Can I see your maps?!

  • Hi everyone. We are almost ready with timed ticketing (miracle!). The one last piece I am stuck on is, I created a zone that is a 'Flex zone' that I only want available for our ticketing staff...but it is still being shown online.  Is there a way to just hide this specific zone online?

We don't currently use allocation codes, and I am assuming we could do it that way? I am just trying to avoid going there if I don't have to ;)

  • Derrek,

If you don't want to use allocation codes, what about applying hold codes that are breakable by your ticketing staff?

I'm not 100% sure whether or not the Flex zone would still be visible on the web, but at the very least it wouldn't show any available tickets.

    Thanks,

    Shelly

  • That is the big challenge of using native TNEW. What we did, that I don't love, is for instance, having "duplicate" Price Types for the major tickets. For instance Adult (not visible to the web) and Adult-Web; Senior & Senior-Web, etc.

  • Thanks Mark and Shelly, you both sent me down the right path to get this to work, appreciate it! Overall, I try really hard to making extra price types, but that was a really good idea.

I was able to 'hide' the zone, by making a breakable hold code on all the seats (like Shelly suggested). And then, in TNEW, in 'Product Type Editor' there is an option for 'Sold Out Zone Displayed: ' which I switched to False.

Not a perfect solution, as now if that Zone is needed, our staff have to go in and 'break' the hold code. But alas, it is an emergency, we need an extra ticket zone, so we are hoping we don't end up needing it!

  • Derrek,

Does your staff sell out of Order Details or QuickSale?

Quicksale is a little smoother for selling into a held zone, because it pops up a message asking if you want to go to the seatmap to seat the tickets.

If you're using Best Seat on the Order Details screen, though, it just tells you "Could not find seats for specified criteria", and then you have to surmise that you should click the Seat Map tab.

You're right that it's not an ideal solution either way, but at least you didn't have to mess with allocation codes.

Did you make sure that everyone has access to break those holds who will need it? Like anyone outside the ticketing team that might?

    Thanks,

    Shelly
