Microsoft invites cultural organizations to join discussion on COVID-19 preparedness

Hello everyone,

Tessitura Network partner Microsoft is convening a discussion to share ideas around contingency planning and COVID-19. While the focus is on museums and libraries, they have extended the discussion to all Tessitura organizations, regardless of genre. Below is an invitation and more information from Catherine Devine, Business Strategy Leader, Museums and Libraries at Microsoft:

Recently, all of our lives globally have been disrupted by COVID-19. For most of us we are living through unprecedented times. Many museum and libraries around the world are making difficult decisions to temporarily close or limit public entry, limit staff travel and encourage remote working for the health and safety of the public and staff. To that end, on behalf of Microsoft, I would like to create a community for Museums and Libraries who are considering contingency plans to share learnings amongst their peers around remote work. Microsoft has made significant commitments in the last week to support everyone in the world with remote work, bringing their collaboration platforms available to everyone for free. I want to advocate at Microsoft for what this sector needs to support continuity, as well as to assist in supporting individual organization decision making, strategy and support. I would encourage you to join if you are looking for help from your peers. Jeff Spar, former CIO of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will be joining me to help facilitate the discussion As many of you know, Jeff has deep technical and sector experience in this space.

Our first discussion will be Monday March 16th at 7am Pacific US, 10am Eastern US, 2pm UK, 3pm Europe, 4pm Middle East covering US and Europe. We will extend additional discussions to Asia as needed.
