Pay It Forward

Hello, we are looking to set up the 'Pay It Forward' ticketing option for someone to buy the ticket on behalf of someone else. I wanted to know if anyone is already using this option, if so - how was it set up?

Thanks

  • Hi Ivelina and Kat,

I thought I'd jump in here as I know of an example.

The way another organisation did it was they set up a 'Pay it Foward' donation amount of £20 (in this case it was worth £20). There are no orders or tickets involved at this point as the purchaser doesn't actually buy the seat for an individual, they just pay for it via a donation.

Tickets on events where the pay it forward scheme was applicable were held. Then, when it came time to release the holds, the tickets were put into an allocation for a specific MOS. An email was sent to the people who were eligible to book containing a link that forced a MOS shift. The tickets were available in that MOS. They then forced HABO on the tickets to check for ID, although I'm sure because of COVID you could come up with a different operational solution if you didn't want to do HABO.

    Does that make sense?

Shout if you have any further questions! Hopefully other people pick up this thread and comment with their experiences too.

    Thanks

    Chloe
