Selling Fast in Museums and Attractions

To keep the conversation going, I thought I'd post our discussion topics here over the next few weeks to see if anyone who wasn't able to join in our meet up can add their thoughts, questions, and experience to the mix. For the first one, the question is:

Are you processing a high volume of transactions on site in your museum or attraction? How fast are you at selling tickets, taking donations and capturing data in your museum or attraction on the ground?  What would you need in order to do it  faster?

  • A big barrier for us are visitors that are using Tesco Payments towards their on arrival purchases. We have done so much work at BCLM to streamline the 'On-the-door' admissions process but this is still something that takes up a significant amount of time at the admissions desks (especially during peak holidays!)

    We have spoken to Tessitura about the possibility of integrating TNEW with this payment option but I don't think there is enough of a need (industry wide) at the moment and so we're hoping for future investment in this area.
