Co-ordinating a First Meeting pre- TLCC

Hello everyone!

Apologies for the radio silence. I have been lying in wait deliberating over the best way to get this group up and started, and meanwhile have waited far to long to actually get it done!

I know this will not be the first meeting of the group, but it will be the first meeting in a very long time! We have some brand new museums in the community who I am sure it would be great to hear more from and we have waited far too long to get this up and running. With TLCC in only a few weeks and the London conference on the horizon, I figured there is no time like the present!

First and foremost, let's find a date-- I've created a doodle poll below with a few different date and time options in the next two weeks. My goal is that some group of us try to get together and chat at least once before TLCC.

At the first meeting, I think we will just keep it easy with a very light agenda:

1) Introductions from everyone that is able to make it

2) Discussion about what everyone would like to get out of this group (ie. Topics such as education visits, analytics in use at museums, ticketing approaches post-pandemic),

3) Discussion about frequency and timing of meeting that suits everyone

Depending on what the list is that we come up with, I'd like to run some of the meetings as presentation style sessions where people from within our community talk to the rest of us about something topical, and the others I'd like to do using Lean Coffee Table so that you can come along with whatever is on your mind and hopefully get some feedback from the rest of the group about it.

After this first meeting, we'll try and settle on a time that works well for everyone to join in and try to set up a regular catch up. If you can't make it to any of the meeting times proposed next week but you are interested in getting involved, please drop a comment on this post touching on the above points, and we will work your preferences into our discussion. I hope that sounds good to all of you!

For now, please take a few second just to let me know on this doodle poll which time works well for you. Depending on how many responses I get I'll aim to close the poll and set up the meeting on Friday 5th August if possible and send out the invites to the first session then. The poll is here:

See you all soon I hope!

Jenna
