Package Sales

Good morning!

Is anyone out there selling packages through TNMP?  If so did you create a custom tab or are you using the ingoremobile paramater when linking to packages?

Thanks!

Did you ever get any responses off line to this?

We use TNew and TNMP for our purchase paths as our website is now mobile optimized.  All links from our non Tessitura website are automatically redirected to TNMP if a person is on a mobile device.  I was wondering if there was a way to override that and have them go to TNew to purchase packages when on mobile instead of TNMP?

  • Hi Margaret,

You know, I never did receive a response to my inquiry, but at the time it fell to the bottom of my list as I was also working on getting a number of other initiatives up and running.

Now, with TNMP not currently supporting Subscription Sales there are a number of workarounds that can be utilized.

One of the great new features of TNMP v2.5 is the ability to prevent a specific page on your main website from redirecting to TN Mobile Plus by adding the URL to the Pages to Ignore Redirect field. This would be a great feature to employ when sending out emails that are promoting your package sales.

Another similar function, for those who may not be ready to upgrade to v2.5, would be to include the "?ignoremobile=y" parameter in embedded links that drive traffic directly to your package purchase path.

For those patrons looking to purchase a package that are coming to your site from a source other than a newsletter or promotion, it may be worthwhile to create a Custom Tab for packages in your TNMP Control Panel. Here again you would want to employ either the Pages to Ignore Feature or the "?ignoremobile=y" parameter to drive them back to your main website so that they can purchase the package(s) they're looking for.

Of course, with TNEW not currently optimized for use with mobile/tablet devices there may be some user experience issues navigating the site, especially on devices with smaller screens.

It is important to note that CYO packages will not load at all on a mobile device due to the nature of the two-column product picker. However, fixed packages should load just fine.

I hope this gives you a few ideas of how to incorporate package sales for those patrons who are using mobile/tablet devices.

As always, if you have questions please continue to use the forums and these groups to see what other organizations may be doing. You're always welcome to submit a TASK ticket as well as we're happy to do what we can to assist!

    Thanks!
