v7.17.1 Deployed to all LIVE sites

The 7.17.1 release has been deployed to all TNEW LIVE Sites.

For v6 & v7, the following updates were made. The full list of fixes included in this update is published in the v6 release notes section of the v6 TN Express Web User Guide and in the v7 release notes section of the v7 TN Express Web User Guide.

  • TNEW Hosted Payment Window:
    • Customers had reported issues with the TNEW hosted payment window not loading during the checkout process. It was determined that this was due to customers accessing TNEW within a network whose firewall settings were configured to prevent communication with the TNEW hosted payment service. We have updated the TNEW hosted payment window to display the actual error that is triggered by the network. A customer who encounters this error should follow the instructions on the error page and/or customer should be encouraged to access TNEW on a different network [different wi-fi network, different local area network (LAN)].

The 7.17.1 release also includes all of the updates originally published in the v7.17.0 release notes below.

For v6 & v7, the following updates were made. The full list of fixes included in this update is published in the v6 release notes section of the v6 TN Express Web User Guide and in the v7 release notes section of the v7 TN Express Web User Guide.

  • Facebook API: Updated to reference version 3.2 - see v6 Documentation or v7 Documentation
    • IMPORTANT: You must make the following changes in your Facebook App settings in both TEST and LIVE environments with this release otherwise Facebook Log In feature will not work. If you cannot make these adjustments in the Facebook App, we recommend disabling Facebook Log in until you can update the settings for your Facebook App.
      • OAuth must be turned on in your Facebook App settings in both TEST and LIVE environments
      • A new URL (https.tnewyoursiteurl/session/authentication/facebook) needs to be added to the OAuth URL Redirect List

For v7, additional fixes and enhancements were released including those outlined below. This is not a complete list. The full list of enhancements and fixes included in this update is published in the v7 release notes section of the v7 TN Express Web User Guide.

  • Guest Checkout in Beta on TEST Sites
    • IMPORTANT: Guest Checkout in v7 requires Tessitura version 14.1.10 or 15.0.2. If you want to participate in the beta testing process, you will need to be on the latest version and latest service pack.
    • If you would like to beta test this new feature, reach out to us via TASK support ticket to get started - or enable the guest checkout feature on your TEST site and submit feedback via the "Provide feedback" button in the admin tool.
    • You will also need to create a new guest login type and then configure TNEW via the "guest checkout" component editor with that new guest login type.
    • Documentation for this new feature can be found in our help system.
    • Please submit feedback no later than Monday, February 11, 2019.

  • New enhancements:
    • Forgot Password: "Email Address not found" message is now editable in the "Forgot Password" component in v7 admin site.
    • Performance: Cart has been update to pass in string of performances ids in one API call.

  • Fixes to reported defects:
    • Title Overrides: If performance title overrides or production season title overrides via TN_Express_Title in web content were configured, but had not been edited in TNEW v7 Admin, the titles were not displaying correctly on the event details page.
    • Select Your Own Seat (SYOS): If performance price type set up had duplicate price types, associated fees could be miscalculated for the performance and cause total price to display incorrectly. This has been fixed.
    • Promo & MOS Conflicts:
      • The "AbandonCartLink" token in the MOS conflict error message was causing an error instead of clearing the cart and redirecting user to appropriate page.
      • MOS confict error message now is triggered for both promo code based and ranking based Mode of Sale shifts.
    • Multiple Membership Error Handling: When user attempts to add a second membership to cart, a new, more user-friendly error message displays.
    • Fee Subtotal in Cart: This fee subtotal line item in the cart will no longer display if the fee amount = $0.00.
    • Interests: Keyword Interests on the create account, create account brief and interests pages were not being sorted by category id. This has been fixed. A new property in the "Interests Form" component allows you to configure the sort by category id to be ascending or descending.
  • Within less than an hour of the v7.17.1 deployment message above, our box office reported two patrons who had "problems checking out as guests" and received a "server error." Several things are odd about this:

    • This was obviously on our Live site, not Test.
    • We have not enabled guest checkout.
    • We couldn't enable guest checkout if we wanted to, as we are still on Tessitura 12.5.1 for the moment.
    • As of about 3 hours after hearing of this issue, I have been unable to replicate it or find any evidence of a guest checkout option our patrons could have attempted to use.

Is it possible that when this release was rolled out to Live sites, the guest checkout beta feature was somehow briefly exposed to the public and then disabled? If this is known to have occurred, is it now known to be fixed, or is there any chance it's an intermittent issue that we should be continuing to troubleshoot?

    Thanks for any info.

EDIT: I see now that I missed something -- there is some text above the "Register" button on the login screen indicating that guest checkout is an option. Could that have just appeared tonight? I'm wondering if that is what confused our patrons. I'm going to edit that text and hope that's all it was.

  • Hi Christian,

Yes - the content above the "Register" button in v7 is migrated from Login.aspx/GuestChkText in v6's LTR_TN_EXPRESS_WEB_CONTENT system table. If the content in that field contained reference to guest checkout, then that could be the issue causing confusion with your users hoping to checkout as guest. I double checked your live site just in case but you are correct that guest checkout cannot be enabled on a site that is not running 14.1.10 or 15.0.2 so I do think you probably found the source of the issue being the content.

I am also wondering if the server errors were perhaps related to the timing of the deployment? Do let us know if you are getting reports of server errors as we would want to address that as soon as possible.

    Thanks!
    Nara

  • Thanks, Nara. I almost forgot about the server error -- partly because I didn't see it myself. But at least two people confirmed seeing that when they clicked through to register a new account. It isn't happening now and we can't replicate it, so I bet you're right that it was the timing on the patch deployment. I think it's resolved and I'm not seeing any other issues at this time. Thank you for responding!
